The Member for Ballina, Don Page, today said he was concerned to hear the Federal Labor Government has indicated it wants to reduce the Federal Government's funding contribution for the Pacific Highway upgrade from 80 percent to 50 percent.

The State Government is making it easier for small businesses to do business in NSW, the Member for Ballina, Don Page, said today.
The NSW Small Business Commissioner, Yasmin King, has released a report on the results of her recent Listening Tour of the state, where she met with business owners to talk about the issues affecting the sector.

BALLINA LIGHTHOUSE & LISMORE SLSC TO RECEIVE $100,000 |

Don Page, Member for Ballina has today announced funding of $100,000 for the Ballina Lighthouse & Lismore Surf Life Saving Club from the NSW Government.
“The local members of the Ballina Lighthouse & Lismore SLSC do an outstanding job patrolling our beaches. This grant will assist the club in the construction of the long awaited new club house and patrol building at Lighthouse Beach in Ballina,” Mr Page said.

TIME TO REEL IN RECREATIONAL FISHING TRUST FUNDING |

Member for Ballina, Don Page MP, today encouraged local organisations and anglers with ideas for projects to help improve recreational fishing to apply for funding from the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.
Mr Page said that the grants allow money generated from the sale of NSW recreational fishing licenses to be re-invested back into improving recreational fishing opportunities in the region.

As North Coast residents are only too aware, Christmas is a busy time on northern NSW roads. Member for Ballina, Don Page, is asking people to take extra care, obey the road rules and always stop, revive, survive.
Mr Page said driving carefully and being patient was particularly important during the holiday break, when traffic numbers increase significantly.
