The Ballina Electorate is a winner in the NSW budget with the State Government announcing more than $300 million for major projects targeting health, roads and tourism, the Member for Ballina, Don Page, said today.
“The projects, which include a new 50-bed central hospital at Ewingsdale near Byron Bay, $205 million for the completion of the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale upgrade of the Pacific Highway and $110 million for a Regional Tourism Fund in NSW which could fund a rail trail on the Casino to Murwillumbah corridor, will benefit the entire region,” Mr Page said.
The NSW Budget includes:
“At a time when the NSW Government is cautious with its spending, to receive this level of new funding is very exciting,” Mr Page said.
“Each project will have a broad regional benefit with the new Byron Central Hospital providing services for patients from around the Byron Shire and beyond.
“This budget is a great boost for local infrastructure and I am especially excited to be able to deliver a new hospital.
“I am pleased the NSW Government is investing in projects in this region that will improve road safety, health services and create local jobs,” Mr Page said.
